Frequently asked questions

How does it decide two array items are the same record?

It picks a field present, unique, and shared on both sides — conventional identifiers like id, uuid, or slug first, any other unique field otherwise — and matches records by that value, so reordering an array doesn't report as mass adds and removes. You can override the field it picked.

Can I compare more than two documents at once?

One pair at a time — pick which two of your open documents to compare from the side selectors, or open a third and fourth to compare a different pair next.

What do added, removed, and changed mean?

Added and removed are keys or array records only one side has; changed is a key both sides have with a different value. Each is color-coded and filterable.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. The comparison runs entirely in your browser — nothing you paste is sent to a server.
