Why do I get an error converting to XML?

XML needs exactly one root element, so the JSON must be a single object at the top level — a bare array or plain value has nowhere to attach as the root. Wrap it in an object first.

How are JSON arrays represented in XML?

As repeated sibling elements with the same tag name — the same convention vtree's own XML parser expects back.

Can I get attributes instead of nested elements?
