Frequently asked questions

What happens to TOML dates and times?

They convert to ISO 8601 strings in the JSON output — the same lossless conversion vtree's TOML viewer uses everywhere else.

How are tables and arrays of tables handled?

A [section] becomes a nested object, and an array of tables ([[items]]) becomes a JSON array of objects — the structure carries over directly.

Why does conversion fail on my TOML?

Usually a duplicate key, or a value that mixes types within an array — TOML arrays must be uniformly typed.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser.

Is this free to use?

Yes, vtree is free with no account or sign-up required.
